Mari SanGiovanni published her first book with Bywater Books after entering a writing contest back in 2007. Her first novel Greetings From Jamaica, Wish You Were Queer is a romantic comedy that short-listed for a Lambda Literary Award and was re-released for a book club offering. Her second novel, Camptown Ladies, is a sequel to her first novel and was the winner of the Golden Crown Literary Society Award for Best Traditional/Contemporary Romance.

Mari has great reviews from Advocate magazine, AfterEllen.com, On Our Backs, and from radio personality Howard Stern.

“A breezy romp!” —The Advocate

“Damn if I didn’t actually laugh out loud while reading it — several times, in fact. I hate it when the anonymous book blurb writers are right!” —AfterEllen.com

The third book in the Santora family trilogy, 80% Done With Straight Girls, will be published spring/summer 2022 by Bywater Books. Mari’s screenplay version of Greetings From Jamaica has placed in several writing competitions, and Mari’s original screenplay The Sibling Rule won second place for Best Comedy in the Woods Hole Screenplay Competition and was a top ten finalist at the New Hampshire Film Festival. The Sibling Rule may someday grow up to be a novel.  Mari has a few other novels in the works, including Liddy-Jean, Marketing Queen.

When she’s not writing, Mari is the Divisional Manager of Product Development for a major home retail corporation with global markets across the US, Europe, Australia, and Germany.  She also has  Facebook and Instagram pages for Artwork By Mari where she works to inspire others to paint, draw, and stay creative.
