This summer, Marianne K. Martin will appear at several events, to discuss lesbian literature; to talk about why she writes and how she finds the subjects for her books; to give advice to new writers about the business of writing; and to read from her new book, Tangled Roots, as well as sign.

June 26–29:
At the National Women’s Festival, Marianne is the Featured Speaker. With author Sandra Moran, she will be discussing The Past As Prologue: Where We’ve Been & Where We’re Going, a presentation about the history of lesbian literature, the books that were instrumental to our genre — and how the genre is changing in light of recent cultural changes.

She will take part in two further events with Sandra: a workshop Now That I’m Published, discussing what authors can expect the publisher to do to market their book, and what should/could be done by the author; and Why We Wrote That, in which both will discuss their most recent novels, and explain how they chose the topics, and why they write.

Marriott Madison West Hotel & Conference Center, 1313 John Q Hammons Drive, Middleton, Wisconsin 53562.
