Joan Opyr
Joan Opyr is the author of two novels, Idaho Code and From Hell to Breakfast, both set in her adopted home of North Idaho. A North Carolina native, Joan has a BA and an MA in English from North Carolina State University, and she is ABD for her PhD in Old English from The Ohio State University. A manic jack-of-all-trades, Joan is working on a third novel, Only When You Leave, while pursuing a degree in nursing from Lewis-Clark State College, working as a CNA on an Alzheimer’s and dementia unit, and trying to teach herself Dutch and Serbo-Croatian. Just before the passage of Proposition 8, Joan was married in California to her long-time partner, Melynda Huskey. The couple have two kids, two dogs, and a guinea pig named Timothy.
